Pikeville College issued the following announcement.
In the fall of 2018, the University of Pikeville welcomed Lexington, Ky., native, Courtney Justice, to the Office of Advancement. Justice’s role as senior director of advancement allows her to establish long-term partnerships and strengthen existing relationships with alumni and other partners for the benefit of UPIKE’s graduate programs, including the Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine (KYCOM) and the Kentucky College of Optometry (KYCO).
Prior to joining UPIKE, Justice enjoyed a successful 14-year career in pharmaceutical sales, earning the Circle of Excellence, awarded to representatives in the top 2.5 percent of sales, three times while at AstraZeneca. Justice, who received a bachelor’s in health administration from the University of Kentucky, is excited to bring her experience to UPIKE.
“The medical and optometry colleges are assets to this region,” noted David Hutchens, UPIKE vice president for advancement and alumni relations. “Helping students so that they can finish their degrees and then serve in rural areas is not just a priority; it’s our mission. Courtney will help us continue to meet that mission through friend- and fundraising.”
One of Justice’s objectives is to partner with the KYCOM Alumni Association to increase alumni engagement and she has already hosted alumni events in both Cincinnati and Lexington.
“We’re working with the KYCOM Alumni Association Board to establish scholarships and mentoring opportunities, and to get 20 years of alumni more engaged with their school,” Justice said.
Justice resides in Pikeville with her husband, Brandon, and their four children.
