Graduates earn 412 degrees from the University of Pikeville

About 43.4 percent of the 412 degrees and certificates handed out by the University of Pikeville in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Pikeville conferred 128 doctor's degrees and 44 associate's degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a doctor's degree in osteopathic medicine/osteopathy. Data shows the school gave out 128 doctor's degrees in osteopathic medicine/osteopathy, followed by 44 associate's degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse and 41 master's degrees in general educational leadership and administration.

The university enrolled 2,317 students for 2017-18, including 1,499 in undergraduate programs and 818 in graduate programs.
