New book at the Story Trail! November’s story is “The Ugly Pumpkin” by Dave Horowitz. Stop by the Story Trail, located at Bob Amos Park between the Overlook and Muddy Boots Horse Stable, any time this month to walk the trail and read the story.

The Ugly Pumpkin has waited all through October for someone to bring him home, but no one seems to want him. Sure, he’s kind of funny looking, but why does everyone have to tease him so much? Even trees make fun of him.

So the poor, lonely Ugly Pumpkin sets off to find someplace where he’ll fit in. And sure enough, by the time Thanksgiving rolls around, he discovers the truth about who he is and finds exactly where he belongs–but it’s not at all what he expected!

Dave Horowitz offers up a feast for the eyes in this hilarious twist on The Ugly Duckling.
